This work has a kind of fantastic atmosphere, making the most of the face-to-face scenery reflected in the glass at the zoo. At first glance, it is a tiger sitting in nature with a slightly melancholy expression on its face, looking like it has something to say. However, if you look closely, you can see that it is not a natural environment, as there is a wire mesh on top. In addition, the photo is not a composite. The photo could have been taken as if it were a tiger in nature, but by leaving the wire mesh on the ceiling, it expresses that the tiger is actually a prisoner.
By leaving the wire netting on the ceiling, I tried to express that I am actually a prisoner. Still, by saying that I am here, alive and existing, I tried to convey the idea of connection, and resonance.
Depending on whether you recognize the wire mesh on the ceiling or not, or whether you think it is the mesh that is an illusion, the way you see it may be quite different. In your real life, are you aware of the wire mesh above your head? Or are you convinced that the net is suppressing everything?
This tree is a giant tree “Katsura” standing in the hinterland of a clear stream. It exists there, quietly and solemnly, without being threatened by anyone.

【Profil~プロフィール】 Née en 1970, je suis originaire du département de Shizuoka.

Machiko Yamauchi Born in Mishima, Shizuoka Prefecture in 1970 I bought a small film camera in 2009 on a whim. Though I had never been interested in anything before, that all changed completely once I looked through the viewfinder and found myself enchanted by everything I saw there. Everything seemed to have been reborn, new and beautiful. It was my desire to try to express the inspiration I felt at that moment that brought me to photography.
2012 Produced the photo collection “In an Eternal Moment” With permission from Hibiki Towane, author of “A Moment of Eternity” (Tokuma Shoten Publishing), I created a beautiful, exquisite fantasy world through photography
November 2016 A number of my photographs were featured in the Tonichi Shinbun, a newspaper based in Toyohashi, Aichi Prefecture, along with a write-up on my photography video, “The Forest of Magic”
April 2019 Exhibited both color and monochrome works in the Gallery Kingyo exhibition “Toki wa haru”
